Junior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Overview:
The Junior Oracle DBA supports the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Oracle database environments under the guidance of senior DBAs. This role is suitable for recent graduates or candidates with foundational database knowledge seeking hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation, configuration, and basic administration of Oracle databases.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (user management, tablespaces, backups).
- Support backup and recovery operations following defined procedures.
- Assist with patching, upgrades, and documentation.
- Respond to incidents and service requests related to databases.
- Work with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of Oracle Database architecture.
- Fundamental SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix basics.
- Understanding of backup and recovery concepts.
- Familiarity with database security basics (users, roles, privileges).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Greek
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical training).
- Exposure to Oracle RMAN and Data Guard (theoretical or practical).
- Exposure in other DB's (Postgres, MySQL)
- Experience from labs, internships, or academic projects.
- Basic scripting (Shell).
- Awareness of ITIL processes.
- Oracle certification (or working toward one).
